Local sightseeing and nearby excursions
Sightseeing
The Tyrrenian coast of Calabria has many beautiful sea-beaches. They
can be reached very easily by car from Cetraro (in a time typically ranging
from a few minutes to 2 hours, one way).
In addition, there are villages on the coast with preserved, interesting
ancient urban centre. Some examples:

- SILA Mountains (by car only, about 2h one
way)
- AMALFI,
RAVELLO and POSITANO (by car only, about 3h one way)
- POMPEI
The Roman II Century B.C. "buried" city (preferably by car,
about 2h 30' one way)
- REGGIO
CALABRIA: The National Archeological museum
has IV century B.C. Ancient Greek Sculptures (2h by train from Paola)
- PAESTUM
very well preserved "doric" style ancient temples of IV and V
century B.C. (about 2h 30' by car)
