Originally built as a private villa at the turn of the century, San Michele was converted into an hotel 50 years ago. It is surrounded by a 45 hectares estate that still today provides the hotel with fruits, vegetables, cheese, wine and olive oil. The estate on a cliff 140 m. above sea level enjoys an exceptional view of the coastline.

The cliff is an ideal birdwatching site and the nearby mountains are still today an unspoiled sanctuary of Mediterranean flora and fauna. Charming villages tell the story of the oldest part of Italy from paleolitic times to 16th century pirates, through greecs, romans and byzantines.

Food is considered here as a relevant part of cultural inheritance and is taken care of accordingly.
